Tryouts will start on February 20th at 1 o'clock. You must have a valid physical to participate.

Boys Varsity Tryouts

Boys Soccer Varsity Tryouts

4:30 to 6:00

February 20th - First day of tryouts at the field next to the tennis courts. You will not be able to tryout unless you have a valid physical and heads up concussion form.

February 21st - At the end of this session all players under consideration to be cut will be told what they need to show the coaches on the final day. 

February 22nd - Unless more days are needed cuts will be made at the end of the session. Each player will be told individually why they are being cut. 

Player Criteria

All players will be judged based on the following criteria.

Technique - This is where the player will show their individual soccer specific skills. Control of the ball, finishing, passing, heading, etc...

Insight - This is where the player will show their soccer brain. Do you recognize and utilize space? Do you understand how your movements fit in with the team shape? How well do you read the game? 

Personality - Here a player will show the coaches how they fit within a team structure. Are you positive? Are you a good teammate? Can you be counted on? 

Speed - Speed is broken into a couple of categories. A to B speed. Speed of recognition. Speed with the ball.

These four areas will cover the majority of what we are looking for in a player. There are always other considerations as well including numbers in certain positions and grades. All this information will be reinforced before the start of tryouts.

Preseason Conditioning

Preseason conditioning is every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 5:45. All players interested in participating must have a valid physical and concussion form. Unless announced otherwise, meet at the back field (beside the tennis courts) with water, cleats, shin guards and running shoes.
